The TRE® method is a therapeutic technique that has been developed to release body tensions that have arisen as a result of stress, trauma or other emotionally difficult experiences. Even people without a specific disorder or trauma can use the TRE® method to improve well-being, reduce stress and increase a sense of balance. It can be used as a tool for daily self-care and mental health support.
The TRE® method can be useful as a complementary therapy for people with mood disorders such as depression or anxiety disorders. Releasing physical tension can support the therapeutic process and help to better regulate emotions.
There is no clear recommended frequency for all people, as each situation and condition is different. If you are a beginner and just starting to use the TRE method, we recommend starting by learning and practicing under the supervision of a qualified instructor at MTS Holistic Therapy. Once you have mastered the technique and received guidance from an instructor, many people use the TRE method daily as a form of daily self-care and relaxation. Daily practice can help maintain body flexibility, relieve tension and promote overall wellbeing.
TRE® is a method derived from the natural behaviour of our bodies. By consciously making our bodies tremble, through a sequence of exercises, we stimulate a mechanism for releasing the lingering stress and trauma accumulated in our bodies in our current lives. By using TRE® on a regular basis, you can feel for yourself how your life comfort changes. However, it is important to be aware of the contraindications of the method and to stick to their recommendations.
The therapy provides relief from nagging pains, especially if the pain is related to muscle tension or stress. The technique induces muscle trembling and aims to release and discharge accumulated tensions in the body. Often, pain is precisely related to stress and emotional tension. In addition, the therapy affects the autonomic nervous system, stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system. This can lead to improved blood circulation, lymph flow and an overall better functioning of the body, which in turn has a positive effect on pain reduction.
Although TRE® can be learned on your own, it is advisable to start learning and practising under the supervision of a qualified instructor. A specialist at MTS Holistic Therapy will provide you with appropriate guidance on the technique of this method. He or she will also assess the fitness of your body, your state of health and match the exercises to your individual needs. In addition, you will receive emotional and practical support while learning TRE®. We will answer any questions you may have, discuss potential reactions and side effects, and together interpret experiences that may arise during practice.
