For almost everyone, the end of winter is associated with a distinct drop in form. We experience constant sleepiness, headaches and are less resistant to stress. In order to survive the spring solstice, it is worth focusing on regenerating the body. What is the best way to take care of it in spring?
Why are we experiencing spring weakness?
At end of winter we usually feel tired, in a bad mood and excessively sleepy. This is a symptom of the spring solstice, which we feel the more strongly the greater the jump in temperature. The lack of sunlight after winter causes an increase in the production of melatonin, which regulates our biological rhythm, affecting our mood and sleep disorders.
In addition, hypoxia, lack of vitamin D, reduces our resistance to infection. A winter menu, full of calories and dishes, but devoid of vitamins and microelements, is also not without significance. Apart from the extra kilos, this results in an excess of harmful substances absorbed with food. All this results in a disturbance of the metabolic mechanisms and a kind of poisoning of the organism, the symptoms of which are fatigue, muscle pains, problems with the complexion or hair, as well as a lowering of immunity and worsening of the mood. This is why cleansing the body becomes most important for spring regeneration.
How to cleanse the body with diet?
Cleansing through diet means reducing the amount of food you eat and concentrating on eating unprocessed foods: vegetables and fruit, juices, fibre and water. Deprived of certain ingredients, the body will reach for reserves: it will use up excess fats, lingering deposits and weakened cells.
It is worth remembering that it is not the new vegetables or imported products that should be the basis of our diet. It is better to replace early greenhouse-grown tomatoes with sprouts: root vegetables such as carrots, celery, parsley, beetroot and brassicas. As there are not yet many fresh vegetables and fruits available at the beginning of spring, it is worth helping ourselves to preparations from the pharmacy. If, despite being tired, you have problems falling asleep, it is worth supplementing with B vitamins, which improve the function of the nervous system.
The sauna also has a purifying effect on the body, so it is a good idea to visit it once or twice a week.
Spring solstice and outdoor movement.
When it is bright and warm outside, it is easier to mobilise physical activity and go for a workout. This is because regular physical activity reduces the feeling of malaise. However, it is a good idea to start with moderate exercise. For example, it can be a brisk walk. Just being outdoors gives you energy, improves your mood and immunity. Sport, in turn, activates excretory mechanisms, eliminates constipation and intensifies lung function.
In addition, vitamin D in our body is produced by the sun. The right level of it strengthens bones, accelerates fat burning, prevents depression, heart disease and has anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects. This is why we should spend at least one hour outdoors every day.

Spring solstice - How to help your skin?
Skin symptoms, as well as hair loss or brittle nails, can be a sign of general weakness. Often during this period, we begin to have problems with our complexion, or cavities at the corners of the mouth, so it is worth taking care of your beauty and replenishing important minerals. The skin is often dry and grey after winter. Therefore, early spring is a good time to apply cosmetics containing, for example, fruit acids or vitamin C.
Spring solstice and the psyche
According to researchers at the University of California, when temperatures change dramatically during the changing seasons, there is an increase in traffic accidents and a higher suicide rate. The last weeks of winter, or pre-spring, are a very difficult time energetically and mentally, during which we become more broken. Our self-esteem and perception of self-efficacy deteriorates, as well as our mood. Such feelings are natural and can occur regardless of gender or age.
As it turns out, late March and early April is the best time to plan even a short trip during this period. Researchers at the University of Manchester have shown that our bodies benefit more from a spring break than a summer holiday. However, if you can't afford it, it's a good idea to improve your mood by listening to music, taking relaxing baths, visiting the sauna or swimming pool. You can also try aromatherapy or relaxation massages.
